Kosovo. GIZ conference about “Sport for Development”

PLAY International was glad to be part of the GIZ conference about “Sport for Development” in Belgrade, on the 15th-16th of March 2018.

The event was a Learning Conference from the Sport for Development short projects that have been implemented in the end of 2017 by NGOs from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia. It focused on the topic of Sport for (re-)integration of Refugees and other vulnerable groups in the Balkans.

On top of the civil society, the German Embassy, Serbian and Albanian Ministries of Youth and Sport, and the GIZ were part of the event as well.

PLAY International had the pleasure to present the results of its "InclusiveSport@School" project implemented between November and December 2017. In two months, 3 Playdagogy Games on Social Inclusion were created, 8 Physical Education Teachers were trained, and they implemented 52 awareness-raising sport sessions about Social Inclusion and Minority Rights, for the benefit of 520 children between 8 and 12 years old! We could also learn from other NGOs' projects, and exchange experience and recommendations with them. Thank to the GIZ for this initiative and their interest in the field of Sport for Development!
