PLAY International Kosovo promotes her action in the North

PL4Y International Kosovo organized its 1st training in the North on Saturday 6th of June, in Kosovska Mitrovica. PLAY International Kosovo already has a network of more than 60 volunteers organizing inclusive sport activities in 12 localities.

This year, the team identified two new centers in the North (Leposavic and Mitrovica North) and met with motivated volunteers that would like to organize sport activities for the children of their localities. The aim is to train volunteers and give them the skills necessary to organize inclusive sport activities. The final objective is to eventually integrate them into the already existing network of volunteers and start a North/South dialogue and exchange.

Creat links between the North and the South

This 1st training was the opportunity for PLAY International to introduce the project to the 6 new volunteers from Mitrovica North and Leposavic, explain the objectives of inclusive sport and present their future activities. Volunteers had the opportunity to implement what they learnt during the sport sessions on the field, which allowed them to understand better the concept of inclusive sport as well as to create links and friendships among them.

PL4Y also invited volunteers from Strpce (South Kosovo) to this training. It was the opportunity for all of them to exchange and create links between the North and the South. PLAY International was very pleased to see the motivation and commitment of the new volunteers.

This training is the first one of the year and will be complemented by regular visits and on the field training, as well as additional trainings along the year. The newly recruited volunteers will start implementing regular activities in their respective localities in the coming weeks, be prepared!

PL4Y would like to thank NGO AKTIV and Jazas for their great involvement and support. A special thanks to the Council of Europe for supporting this activity.
