KOSOVO. OLYMPIC VALUES

In partnership with Paris 2024 and Unicef, PLAY International has developed the Playdagogy Olympic Values kit builds on from the Olympic values of respect, friendship and excellence to address social issues in Kosovo.

The first Seminar for Volunteers

The first Seminar for Volunteers was organized on 25-26 of March in Banja e Pejës/Pećka Banja.

Our 10 volunteers from Mitrovicë/Mitrovica, Shtime/Štimlje and Prishtinë/Priština took part in it and had the chance to experience workshops, sport sessions and other activities. Through them, they discovered the games included in the “Olympic Values” kit, discussed and exchanged opinions and experiences about the Value of Respect, learned more about Playdagogy as a tool for education and awareness-raising, and prepared the first activities for children.

The first Seminar for Teachers

The first Seminar for Teachers took place on Saturday 1st April in Pristina. 13 physical education teachers from different primary schools participated in the training.
Through sessions on the field, workshops and exchanges, the participants discovered Playdagogy as an educative method and the games on “Respect” included in the “Olympic Values ” kit.
From this week on, children of eight schools in Pristina will enjoy these games and receive key messages about the meaning and importance of Respect, both in sport and in daily life.

We thank our partners for supporting the project: Kosovo National Olympic Committee, Unicef Kosovo Programme, Komuna e Prishtinës.

The second Seminar for Volunteers

On 22-23 of April, our volunteers met in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica for the second Seminar.

Through workshops, group debates and sport activities, we had the possibility to evaluate the first phase of the project and prepare the coming activities. Volunteers are now ready to implement Playdagogy sessions on the Values of “Friendship” and “Excellence” with the children in their localities.

The Seminar also offered volunteers the opportunity to discover and discuss about the Rights of Child, thanks to the support of UNICEF Innovations Lab Kosovo.
