Who We Are

AS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE AND FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT, SPORTS ARE AN INCREDIBLE RESOURCE FOR SOLVING MAJOR SOCIETAL ISSUES.

PLAY International (formerly Sports Without Borders) supports this idea and shows through everyday actions that innovation through sports favours social cohesion and can resolve many educational and health-related problems.

Article 31 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child recognises that each child has the right to play, which is an essential element to individual balance and development. PLAY International has supported this right since 1999.

PLAY International, a catalyst for social change through sports

Through its activities among more than half a million participants in 12 countries since 1999, PLAY International has used sports as powerful leverage for social change.

Whether it involves overcoming trauma after surviving a tsunami, understanding a balanced diet, or rebuilding communities torn apart by conflict, PLAY International develops new methods in teaching, social cohesion, and affective management to help with these issues.

Today, PLAY International is developing its pedagogical and social projects for large-scale use.

Social Impact: a Team Sport

To help sustain the impact of its actions, PLAY International has developed a network of teachers and development specialists around the world.

By bringing together this network’s different skill sets, PLAY International seeks to promote social innovation through sports.

By pooling resources, PLAY International hopes to maximise the impact of its programmes as well as the investment of its partners.

Just like its program Playdagogy, which has seen a dynamic increase in its development, this NGO aspires to increase by 10 the number of participants by 2017.

A member of Groupe SOS, registered with the Ministry for National Education, PLAY International also benefits from its consultative status with UNESCO.
